The George has officially taken home TWO awards at The Bar of the Year Awards 2026! 🏆🏆
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The George has been recognised as a winner in both the Late Bar / Night Club of the Year and The Peoples Choice Award for Dublin!
After taking home an award last year, we’re beyond proud to be celebrating another incredible year of recognition for the venue, our amazing team and, most importantly, the community that makes The George what it is.

For over four decades, The George has been a cornerstone of Dublin’s LGBTQ+ nightlife.
Since opening its doors in 1985, it has become so much more than a late bar. It’s a place where people come to dance, laugh, sing, celebrate, make memories and, most importantly, be completely themselves.
From international tours and massive concept nights to weekly drag shows, charity events and legendary late nights, The George continues to bring people together seven days a week.
And that’s exactly what makes these awards so special.
The Late Bar / Night Club of the Year win celebrates the energy, entertainment and unforgettable nights that have made The George a Dublin nightlife institution.
Our Peoples Choice Awards for a second year is a huge recognition that we are incredibly proud of, and we can’t thank everyone who voted for us.
